"For as long as I can remember, I have been aware of the transient nature of things. Also the finitude of our own existence. In my work I am driven by a form of melancholy, an unfulfilled desire. It also provides a great awareness of time. The short duration of life but also the infinity, that ultimately everything continues after we are long gone. This perspective imbues my work with narrative depth. Each piece capturing a singular moment in the story of existence. In my paintings, I strive to encapsulate scenes from the shared human experience, distilling life into a single frame.
After studying Economics, I started taking painting classes. From that moment on, my interest in the visual arts took off and I attended a three-year academy in The Hague (Netherlands). After completion in 2014, I contributed to the development of the artist collective and studio Art Resort Studios and I had a year of lessons in classical painting techniques at Atelier Sint Lucas in The Hague. In 2015 I completed my first works and found a collaboration with a gallery in Rotterdam, through which my work was purchased by various collectors."
